I got a surprise coupon in my mailbox a few days ago. It was from one of my favorite “sub” restaurants that had just opened a new store near where I live.  I had purchased sandwiches from their store near my workplace many times, and was delighted to find that they were now opening a store in my neighborhood. The coupon was for free sandwiches for the month! I noticed that the coupon was addressed to me, not to “resident”.

Obviously, their POS Software was able to track repeat customers so they could target promotions to those who would likely return and buy (and tell others about their store!) What a nifty way to build your business.
