Can You Afford To Lose Your Files?
Like most people, I have been watching intently the unfolding news reports of the huge hurricane that is fast-approaching the U.S. East Coast. Displaced people, closed airports, closed subways and bus services, power lines down, schools and business closed, water supplies threatened—all of these problems and many more come into play with a natural disaster as big as this one.
I have been thinking about the problems that businesses will have if they haven’t taken proper precautions on a regular basis. Losing power is one thing, but what can you do if you lose all of your files? The answer, of course, is to make sure that you are backing up those files on a regular basis and keeping them in a safe place, preferably off site.
At CCS, we have helped restore files for businesses that have experienced high winds and power outages, fires, floods, landslides, snowslides and even theft. Sometimes we have restored files when employees have made mistakes on the job. While some of the restorations were relatively easy, some were extremely difficult, depending on availability of current information that was properly backed up.
If a disaster happened to your business today, would you be prepared? If you have questions about backing up your files in the right way, call us at 800-672-4806 or email us. We have the answers for you.
