CounterPoint 7.5.20 – What’s New?

CounterPoint 7.5.20 is intended to be the final release of CounterPoint version 7.

As you may already know, there have been some changes at Radiant Systems over the last several years.  This includes technology changes, diverging product lines, and a recent merger with NCR Corporation. While NCR has indicated that it plans to continue supporting CounterPoint version 7.5 for a few more years, other than some possible service packs, nothing else in the way of updates is planned for this product.

NCR is offering inducements to migrate to their CP SQL product.  Please contact the CCS Retail Systems Sales Department for more information on this topic.

Command Center Agent (CMCAgent)  – With the installation of CP 7.5.20, the Command Center Agent (CmcAgent.exe) is automatically installed.  This new utility is designed to allow you to take advantage of the new Radiant Command Center service which allows for PCI-DSS-Compliant remote support and troubleshooting of server and workstations. Details of how this feature will work and when it will be available are intended to be available in a future Service Pack.

Point of Sale – Rounding discounts up.

While some states now require that discounts be rounded-up to the "next whole cent",  previous releases of CounterPoint have always rounded discounts to the "nearest whole cent". With this release, the POS configuration options can now be set to rounded discounts up to the "next whole cent".
