Favorite Ways to Boost Sales – Part 1

This is part 1 of a 3 part series with ideas on how to boost sales. Every business has a particular busy season, but there are things that you can do to to increase sales in all seasons. Think birthdays, anniveraries, graduations, wedding and baby showers. Think outside the box for ideas specific to your type of business.

Today, I’ll list the first 8 ideas. These will be a starting point to help you build on these suggestions. There’s no single miracle on this list, but these tried and true ideas are truly miraculous.

1: Attempt to add on to every sale. Pick an item or two with high margins and universal appeal. Then have everyone on your staff ask every single customer if they would like to by one. This simple act can generate thousands of dollars in sales.

2: Load up on impulse items and display them all over your store. Vary them by season.

3: Sell up. Always show your better quality merchandise most prominently.

4: Keep demonstrating. Show, show, show until they say no.

5: Make shopping easier by using as many signs as possible. Good signage is like having an extra salesperson on the floor

6: Eliminate buying resistance by clearly communicating any and all guarantees your products may have.

7: Offer gift wrapping. It makes a good impression on your customers. (Especially if you can do it for free)

8: Get out on the selling floor! Now is the time to lead the charge. It can’t be done from the quiet of your office.

I hope this gives you a starting point to build on these suggestions. Watch for part 2 of "Favorite Ways to Boost Sales".
