I had an afternoon appointment a few weeks ago to have a manicure. It was for 3:00 P.M., and the store was supposed to be open until 5:30 P.M. I was delayed by an earlier appointment at the doctor’s office, so I called to let the shop know that I would be 15 minutes late, and was told that was O.K.
When I arrived 15 minutes later, I was surprised (and annoyed) to find that the shop was closed. All lights were off and nobody was around. As I had given my cell phone number to the receptionist, I couldn’t understand why I was not called if they had need to close the shop early. If they had called, I could have rescheduled to another day. Will I return to that store again? Of course not! Customers who return to a business are customers who feel valued. I did not feel valued by this business.
