Requiring field entry in CP-SQL

When using NCR CP-SQL, you no doubt have noticed that some fields are required to be filled in, and others are not.  Are you aware that other fields can be set to be required, also?  They can be.

It is a simple change in the data dictionaries to set other field as required.  For example, we have a customer that wants some of the fields for customers to be filled in by their sales personnel when adding new customers.  Of course, this is not always happening, so they asked us to make the changes to the dictionary.

By setting a field, such as email address, to be required, the new customer record can not be saved if the information is not filled in.  Instead, a window pops up, stating which fields (in this case the email field) need to have data in to them.  Closing the pop up window takes the user back to the customer form.  This ensures that the information that you want to collect is always filled in.

Any field in CP-SQL can be set to be required.  So, if you have any information for customers, items, vendors, or other, that you want to always have entered, this simple change will ensure that it is always entered.
