Clients should be on the lookout for email that appears to originate from a printer. Symantec has published examples of malware-ridden emails that attempt to mimic scanned email or documents sent from printer. The email in question is spoofed to appear as if they originated internally at the company and is similar in content to the following example:
SUBJECT: Fwd: Scan from a HP Officejet
Attached document was scanned and sent to you using Hewlett-Packard HP officejet 05701J.
Sent by Morton
Inside the email is a file (usually a .zip file disguised at a .doc or .jpg file) that will install malware on the host computer if opened.
