You have too much to do and too little time. Sometimes getting the day-to-day tasks done seems overwhelming, especially if you add in other critical areas you have to cover – marketing, training, etc. Here’s the secret to being effective.
DON’T LET PERFECTION GET IN THE WAY OF PROGRESS!
One of the surest ways to get stuck on any project – big or small – is to over think, over design, and/or over work it. Instead: Start it now. Start it small. Get it going. And THEN go back to make it better later. For example:
- Outline your marketing plan on a piece of paper.
- Start your training program by spending 10 minutes with a key employee.
- Spend 15 minutes cleaning your stockroom.
Just do something to get started. You’ll find that your business will improve much faster if you try to move 10 things forward by 10% rather than trying to make one thing 100% perfect.
