Yesterday we covered Christian’s ideas on attracting new customers and keeping old ones in 2010, during his interview with VSR technical magazine. Today we cover what comes next.
"Now that you have customers, what are you going to do with them?" Sell them the products they want and give them the service that only you can provide.
"Retailers will be running their inventory lean and targeted…. There will be a major emphasis on having the right product at the right price for the right customer."
"- Days of experimenting with inventory are gone."
"- Buying patterns and sales trends will be analyzed."
"- Inventory turns will be measured and trends will be accounted for."
"The right inventory at the right price at the right time for the right customer will be the key."
"Unfortunately, for many retailers, they didn’t get into business to crunch data and analyze reports. In 2010, retailers will be willing to spend money to get systems that help not only to gather that data. But to act on it appropriately and quickly so they can get back to the business the love – being with customers."
"2010 will be all about getting back to basics in the most effective and efficient manner." And by doing that you will be able to service your customers and be ready to meet the demand when business takes off again.
