NCR Counterpoint 8.4.6 Kit Enhancements
Here are some recent enhancements to the Kit/Bill of Materials in NCR Counterpoint version 8.4.6
Prompting for grid cells in kits
Previously, when a user sold a miscellaneous kit that included a gridded component, the user could only specify the cell (i.e., Red/XL) for that component if it was configured to allow substitution with other grid cells. However, the user had to manually substitute the component.
Similarly, when a user sold a tag-along kit that included a gridded component, the user was required to manually change the cell using the Line details command on the Line menu.
In this version, you can configure CounterPoint to prompt users to choose the cell for each gridded kit component automatically at the time of the sale. This feature streamlines the process of selling kits, saving time at the register and requiring fewer steps for the user to remember.
Select the Prompt for cell check box on the Sales Kit window for each gridded component for which you want to enable this feature.
If the gridded item is a component of a miscellaneous kit, you must select Any Item, Defined Substitutes, or Other Grid Cells from the Allow substitution with list box to make the Prompt for cell check box available.
When a user sells a kit that includes a component with the Prompt for cell setting, the Gridded Item dialog appears automatically, allowing the user to select the specific grid dimensions for the component being sold.
Prompting for serial numbers in tag-along kits
Previously, when a user sold a tag-along kit that included a serialized component, the user was not prompted to specify the serial number for that component, requiring the user to specify the serial number manually using the Line details command on the "Line" menu.
In this version, CounterPoint prompts the user to specify the serial number for each Always serialized and Sometimes Serialized component automatically at the time of the sale, ensuring that serialized components are assigned the necessary serial numbers, as well as speeding up the entire process. You do not have to configure CounterPoint to enable this feature.
Serialized items in miscellaneous kits
Previously, serialized items could not be components of miscellaneous kits. This restriction has been removed from this version, allowing you to include Sometimes Serialized and Always Serialized items in miscellaneous kit definitions. This feature makes miscellaneous kits more versatile, allowing merchants to more easily bundle serialized items with other items.
When you sell a miscellaneous kit that includes a serialized component, you are prompted to specify the serial number for that component automatically, ensuring that serial numbers are assigned to all serialized components.
