Good Service + Good Inventory Control = Happy Customer
The towel bar came loose from the wall in the bathroom the other day, and after carefully unscrewing the bar from the wall I could see that I needed an anchor to hold it in place. The toolbox didnât have the right size molly screws that would fit through the holes in the bracket, so with the old screws in hand I headed for my favorite hardware store.
As I walked into the store, I was immediately approached by a red-coated sales person who asked if I needed help with something. I explained my need, and he directed me to what they call the Nut House. This is a room lined floor-to-ceiling with little drawers filled with screws, nuts, nails, tacks, washers and many other very small items for home repair.
When I walked into the Nut House I was again immediately approached by another red-coated sales person who knew exactly what I needed. She further explained some problems I might encounter if the screws were too narrow for the opening in the bracket or if the old screws had created an enlarged hole in the wall. It was suggested that I use washers on either side of the screws for stability. So I purchased the screws and washers, went home and completed the task successfully.
What could have been a time-consuming, annoying job turned into a very pleasant one, mostly because of the assistance I received from two excellent customer service representatives. Nothing makes a customer happier than good service! I might add that I have recommended this store to several people since then.
The store also had great inventory control. The sales person knew exactly what was on hand and where it wasâno small thing with so many little parts!
